More Reasons to Be Cheerful

Continuing PlanetPenny's focus on cheer,
I'm happy to share my three for this week:

One: G is still upbeat, which is going on 3 months now. It makes such a difference in our lives. Like day and night.

Sunday the weather was mild, though windy, and we used the borrowed wheelchair to go for a short walk. That G is willing to venture out for something other than getting into the car to go to appointments is rather a new trend.

Two, we still have some color in the garden.

Brilliant spring-green moss.

Oak leaf hydrangea

And three: I have finished the shopping, wrapping, and packing for the family we are sponsoring this year in Cathedral Shelter's Christmas Basket program. It's nice to have this done a few weeks ahead of schedule. The rest of my Christmas shopping progress. Sort of.

Cathedral Shelter is serving about 1800 families this year in the Christmas Basket program - and there are still families waiting to be sponsored, if you are in the Chicago area and looking for a great way to contribute. Cathedral Shelter cares for some of the most vulnerable people in society. They do phenomenal work.

If the wrapping looks a little rumpled,
it's because I decided to use thrifted fabric
as reusable wraps.
These are pillow cases.

  1. I'm so glad that the mood is becoming upbeat, that must make things so much easier to cope with. And it's amazing just how much colour you can find in the garden, armed with a camera on a sunny day. That mossy rock is beautiful, so vibrant! Thanks for sharing your cheerfulness! x

  2. Your garden has still got some lovely colour hasn't it? Ours still has pockets of colour too, but I have to say I don't go ou there so much in the winter so I could have some real beauty flowering under the window and I wouldn't know!

The Christmas scheme is a great one, we have bought a toy today for my church's appeal. They aim to give a parcel with treats and toys at Christmas to those who would otherwise not have.

I'm glad that your days are better and pray that they continue to be better giving you plenty of reasons to be cheerful.

  3. What an important cause. I hope that there are many, many donations.

  4. p.s.
The garden shots are cheering me up and so is the news that G continues to have good days. Thanks.

  5. Wow! Can't believe you still have flowers blooming in your garden! Lucky you - they are beautiful (and maybe tasty too :))

  6. So glad Mr. Becoming is on a cheerful trend himself. Your plants look much better than mine! And the fabric wrapping is a great idea. Kudos to you for that.

I must say your outfit looks very cute in the driveway photo!

Thank you!
